Supt. Willie D. Grove
Supt. Willie D. Grove was born in Claysburg, PA, to John & Ophelia Grove on Sept. 30, 1933. He was scouted by Major League, the Pittsburgh Pirates, to play as a
pitcher. Before he could play he was drafted. He served in the Korean war. He graduated from Basic Training at Ft. Knox, KY, when he met his wife, Mother Grove.
He attended Infantry Course for Close Combat, Basic Airborne Course and Combat Medical Course. During his enlistment in the US Army he had the privilege of
traveling and competing as a Master Pistol Shooter on All Army Team.
He served in Korea, Vietnam, three tours in Germany. Germany tours were with wife and daughter at his side. He retired on November 30, 1975 as SGT. First Class at Ft. Hood, TX.
Willie’s Awards and Decorations include: Combat Infantry Badge, Jump Master Badge, 2 Purple Hearts, National Defense Service Medal with Clover Oak Leaf Cluster, Armed Forces Expedition Medal (Korea), Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars.
During Pastor Grove’s career in the US Army he accepted the Lord as his savior and has been in Ministry & Pastoring for 26 years at the Garden of Gethsemane. Before we were in Nürnberg, Germany where he was Fellowship Leader with his wife Florence and daughter at his side. We have been through but to God be the Glory if God be for you. Hold on and hold out. When the Lord calls you, you will stand fast in Him. Gal. 5:1
Evangelist Florence Grove
Evangelist Florence Grove was born to John and Josephine Gaither in Bardstown, KY. She was raised as a Catholic, not knowing holiness. She has been married to Supt. Willie Dean Grove for 62 years, who is the Pastor of the Garden of Gethsemane COGIC for 26 years.
Evangelist Grove is the 1st Lady, District Missionary, Church Mother, President of the Women’s Dept. Her favorite scripture is Psalm 34:1.
She is the mother of one daughter, Lois, who was married to the late Elder Nathaniel Wyche who has 4 children and 18 grandchildren. They have been
members supporting Mom and Dad for 26 years founded by Pastor Grove and Mother Grove. God has truly been good to them and has kept them through it
all. Pastor and Mother Grove have been living in Harker Heights for 47 years at the same residence. To God be the Glory.
